Historic Outer Banks: History is abundant in the Outer Bank of North Carolina. It gave flight to Wilbur and Orville Wright's first airplane and also brought down the infamous pirate Blackbeard. Lighthouse enthusiasts will also find the East Coast's oldest lighthouse on Ocracoke Island.
