White Sands of Maine: Driving on Route 1 along the southern coast of Maine, you will often be tempted to pull over and admire a view, or pamper your feet with the sand-between-your-toes treatment. Even if you drive past all other beaches, do, however, stop at Ogunquit, where 3.5 miles of white sand and a great photo-op at Perkins Cove await your arrival.
